BRT starts operation.

I choose this story because it relate Bangkok transportation. It is a new way for transport in Bangkok, and I am interested this news that make transport in Bangkok better or worse. Price of BRT is interesting because it have air condition in buses, but it is low price.

Sukhumbhun Baripatra, the Bangkok governor, is the head of function to start Bangkok the bus rapid transit (BRT). He say, first time BRT will run between Sathorn and Rachapruck, and BRT fee will be zero baht untill 31 August 2010. Since 1 September 2010 the BRT fee will be set up at 10 baht though of route, four months. 2 January 2011, the BRT fee will be full price that fee depend on distance, start from 12 baht to 24 baht.

In my opinion, this transit system is not good for Bangkok. It will make traffic worse. Now traffic in Bangkok is very bad, when this transport system come to roads in Bangkok. Traffic is worse. Someone think this transport system approach to help traffic in Bangkok but in my thought it does not help. Eventhough, fee of this system is low but it can use in a small area. That is not fair for people who live suburd.
